Ross Blankenship, PhD

An organizational psychologist, author, entrepreneur, and lecturer, Ross is uniquely gifted at helping people navigate their toughest work challenges and most vexing career questions. As the founder and principal of Career Commons he works with individuals at all stages of the career journey, helping them navigate change, make tough decisions, and find work that will help them thrive.

Guided by deep psychological insight and a relational, pragmatic approach, Ross loves helping people get unstuck and chart their paths to the future.

He is the author of Everyday Leadership: A Guide to Developing Your Mindset as a Leader, and Assessing CEOs and Senior Leaders: A Primer for Consultants. His writing has been featured in scholarly and mainstream business publications like Leadership Quarterly, Forbes, and Psychology Today, and he regularly writes a newsletter on navigating complex decisions in work, leadership, life, and career called Now What?

He holds a B.A. in English language and literature from the University of Virginia, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in consulting psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology.

He and his wife live in Birmingham, AL with their two daughters and two vizslas.
